CALENDARS/FLYERS/SCRAPBOOKS ON YOUR COMPUTER
The Procedure to make a calendar/flyer/scrapbook is essentially 3 parts:
A- Acquisition of a picture.
a. This is done many ways, but you can use your scanner or
b. Use a digital camera and download the pictures into a
folder on your hard drive. There are 2-3 ways to do this also.
c. Use a cheap camera and have the photos developed at Wahl Mart into a CD.
B- Improving the acquired image
d. This is done with a graphics editor such as Photo Explosion, Arcsoft, Fast Stone Viewer, or other free ones from the internet, etc
e. The standard resolution for using a picture on a web page is 72 bpi
The term "JPEG" is an acronym for the Joint Photographic Experts Group, which created the standard.

TIFF (originally standing for Tagged Image File Format) is a file format for storing images, popular among graphic artists, the publishing industry,[1] and both amateur and professional photographers in general. As of 2009, it is under the control of Adobe Systems.

The Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) is a bitmap image format that was introduced by CompuServe in 1987[1] and has since come into widespread usage on the World Wide Web due to its wide support and portability.

The BMP file format, also known as bitmap image file or device independent bitmap (DIB) file format or simply a bitmap, is a raster graphics image file format used to store bitmap digital images, independently of the display device (such as a graphics adapter), especially on Microsoft Windows and OS/2 operating systems.
f. Photos can be ‘doctored’ or decorated with these programs.
g. Improved photos can be saved back into the same folder, but a different name must be given the improved photo.
h. Even ‘terrible’ photos have some value, i.e. a face of a beloved Aunt that has passed on, can be pulled from an otherwise terrible photo.
C- The calendar is created.
i. You can use PrintMaster, Print Artist, Adobe Photo Shop, or more expensive programs
j. Your calendar can be set up with pictures and calendar on the same page
k. Or the pictures can be above the calendar. You can add stock clip-art with your own photos
l. You can save your calendar to disk and go to Kinko’s or River Printing or Sam’s or other stores and have them printed.
m. They can be on card stock, slick finish photo paper, or plain paper
n. You can print your own with a good Printer such as Hewlett Packard 750xi, which is a 3-in-1 (scanner, copier, printer) or a more expensive photo quality printer can be purchased.
0- There are many tutorials on the Internet to help you. You will also want to read the documentation that comes with your software. Some software is free or very inexpensive on the Internet.

1. Select Print Master chose the project Calendar. Format a calendar for the proper year and save
2. Make a Text Box. Adjust size, text style and format, to fit each calendar date box.
3. Duplicate this text box as many times as needed, writing birthdays, holidays, special family events and/or information, as needed for the entire year.
4. Sort through photos in your picture folders or clip art file.
Select photos for each month.
5. Move photos on your computer, using EDIT (cut and paste) to Print Master or other calendar project.
A. You may want to have family members photo on the month of their birthdays, activities done during that month . (Halloween ,Oct; Snowmobiling, Jan; Valentines, Feb; etc.)
B. You may want to use humor, or get a photo off the internet.
Use your own creativity and imagination. Have FUN with it.
